Pitch Black (2026)

Release Date: 17th July 2026

Pitch Black is the July 2026 Mega Evolution set, running to 120 cards with 84 before the secret rares start. Mega Darkrai ex is the headline card, backed by Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex and Mega Excadrill ex, with Lurantis ex, Wailord ex, Rampardos ex and Morpeko ex rounding out the ex line-up. The Trainers are worth a look as well, since Gwynn, Iron Defender, Misty's Vitality, Gladion's Final Battle and the Rust Syndicate Grunt all pick up secret rare treatments of their own. The secret rares run from 85/084 to 120/084 and break down as eleven illustration rares, eighteen ultra rares, six special illustration rares and a single Mega Hyper Rare. That top tier has one card in it, Mega Darkrai ex at 120/084, and it is the card most collectors will be chasing. Darkrai appears three times across the back half of the set, at 101, 116 and 120, so there is more than one way into it depending on what you want to spend.
