01 —Introduction¶

What this policy covers and the law it applies to.

This Cookie Policy explains how TCG Mart London uses cookies and similar technologies on tcgmartlondon.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy and should be read alongside it.

We are required by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) to tell you clearly what cookies we set, why we set them, and how you can control them. PECR requires your informed consent before we set any non-essential cookie — which is why our analytics cookies load only after you accept them on the cookie banner.

02 —What are cookies¶

A plain explanation of what cookies are and how they work.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — for example, whether you are logged in, or whether you have acknowledged a banner.

Cookies can be first-party (set by the site you are visiting) or third-party (set by a different domain, such as an analytics service or embedded video player). They can be session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent (stored for a defined period).

03 —Cookies we set¶

Every cookie this site may place on your device.

The full list is below. Analytics cookies appear only if you accept them on the banner.

These WordPress cookies are set only for administrators and editors who are logged into the site's admin panel. If you are a regular visitor — someone who has never logged in — they will never appear on your device.

The tcgm_consent cookie is a first-party preference cookie. Under PECR, storing a consent preference is itself a necessary function of managing consent, so no prior consent is required to set it. It contains no personal data — only the word "granted" or "denied".

04 —Analytics (optional)¶

How we measure site traffic — only with your consent.

To understand how visitors use the site — which guides are read, where people drop off — we use PostHog, a product-analytics tool hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). PostHog sets its own cookies and records usage events such as page views.

• Consent first. PostHog does not load, and no analytics cookies are set, unless you accept analytics on the cookie banner. If you reject or ignore the banner, it never runs.
• One project with Cardfolio. The site shares an analytics project with our Cardfolio app so we can understand the journey from the site to the app. If you later sign in to Cardfolio, your activity there can be linked to your account; on this site alone it stays anonymous.
• No advertising. We never use analytics data for advertising, and we never sell it.
• EU processing. Analytics data is processed and stored on servers within the EU.

Because these analytics cookies are non-essential, PECR requires your consent before they are set — so we ask for it on the banner, and you can withdraw it at any time (see below).

05 —Third-party embeds¶

When embedded content from other sites could set cookies.

Occasionally we may embed content from third-party platforms — for example, a YouTube video to illustrate a card or tournament. When we do, we use privacy-enhanced embed modes where available (e.g. YouTube's youtube-nocookie.com domain) to prevent third-party cookies from being set before you interact with the embed.

If you click "Play" on an embedded video, the third-party platform may then set its own cookies on your device. These cookies are outside our control; the third party's own cookie policy governs their use.

We do not embed any advertising networks, social media share buttons with trackers, or affiliate tracking pixels on this site.

06 —Managing your cookies¶

How to change your analytics choice or remove cookies.

Change your analytics consent at any time using the Cookie settings link (also in the site footer). Choosing "Reject" stops PostHog from loading; withdrawing is as easy as granting.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to see which cookies are stored, block cookies from specific domains, and delete stored cookies. Blocking or deleting the tcgm_consent cookie means the banner will reappear on your next visit; blocking the WordPress login cookies only affects logged-in editors.
