Editorial & valuation disclaimer.
What the content on TCG Mart London is — and is not. Card valuations are editorial estimates, not financial advice or guaranteed resale prices.
Everything on this site is published for information and education. Card valuations are editorial snapshots — they are not financial advice, not guaranteed resale prices, and not appraisals. Markets move fast, grades matter, and no figure we publish should be the sole basis for a buying, selling, insurance, or investment decision. Do your own research.
01 —Introduction¶
Who this disclaimer applies to and why it exists.
TCG Mart London ("we", "us", "our") publishes content about Pokémon trading cards and the broader TCG market — including written guides, card valuations, collection showcases, grading commentary, and market observations. This disclaimer explains the purpose and limits of that content.
This disclaimer applies to all content published on tcgmartlondon.com (the "Site"), including the Guides, the Collection section, the Cardfolio service, and any social channels operated under the TCG Mart London brand.
By using the Site you acknowledge that you have read and understood this disclaimer. If you do not accept it, please do not rely on the content for any commercial or financial purpose.
02 —Definitions¶
Key terms used in this disclaimer.
03 —Content is editorial only¶
The nature and purpose of everything we publish.
All Content on this Site is published for informational and educational purposes only. It represents the editorial opinion and research of TCG Mart London at the time of publication. It is not a recommendation, endorsement, or instruction to take any specific action.
We write about trading cards because we find them interesting — their history, the market around them, and the culture of collecting. We aim to be accurate and well-researched, but we are publishers, not advisers.
Nothing on this Site should be treated as professional advice of any kind. See Sections 5 and 6 for specific exclusions.
04 —Card valuations and market data¶
What valuations are, how we arrive at them, and what they cannot tell you.
Where the Site displays a card valuation, estimated market value, price range, or collection value total, that figure is an editorial estimate based on observed secondary-market data at a specific point in time. It is not a real-time price feed and it is not continuously updated.
Our valuations are typically informed by:
- Sold listings on auction and trading platforms (such as eBay).
- Publicly available pricing databases and population reports from grading services.
- Our own editorial judgement about condition, grade, and comparables.
Valuations are not:
- Offers to buy or sell any card at any stated price.
- Guarantees of the price you will achieve if you sell.
- Certified appraisals or insurance valuations.
- Grading assessments — condition descriptions are editorial only.
- Prices at which TCG Mart London will purchase cards.
The collection value total displayed on the Collection page is the sum of individual editorial estimates at their last-updated dates. It does not represent the liquidation value of the collection or the price at which any card would actually trade on the day you read it.
05 —No financial or investment advice¶
We are not financial advisers and nothing here is investment advice.
Trading cards — including Pokémon cards — may be acquired and held as collectibles, and some people treat them as investments. We understand that. We also discuss market trends, historical price movements, and demand drivers, which may be relevant to collectors who think about value.
However, nothing on this Site constitutes financial, investment, or tax advice. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or any other financial regulatory body. Our Content has not been prepared in compliance with any financial promotion rules.
You should not use any Content on this Site as the basis for a decision to buy, sell, hold, or insure trading cards as investments without first taking your own independent advice from an appropriately qualified professional. Trading card markets are speculative, illiquid, and volatile. Values can fall significantly and quickly. Past price performance is not a reliable guide to future value.
06 —No grading or professional advice¶
We don't assess condition professionally — and we can't give legal, tax, or insurance advice.
Where we describe a card's condition (for example, "PSA 9", "near mint", or "good condition"), this reflects either a third-party grading service's assigned grade or our own editorial assessment for uncertified cards. Our condition descriptions are not professional grading assessments. The grade a professional service assigns to a specific card may differ from our editorial description.
We do not provide:
- Legal advice — including advice about IP rights, authenticity disputes, customs, or taxation of collectibles.
- Tax advice — including advice about Capital Gains Tax, VAT, or income tax treatment of card sales or collections.
- Insurance advice — including recommendations about how to insure a collection or what declared value to use.
- Authenticity certification — we cannot confirm whether any card is genuine without professional inspection.
For any of the above, please consult a qualified professional in the relevant field.
07 —Third-party sources and links¶
Links to external sites are not endorsements, and we can't control what they say.
The Site may link to or reference external websites, marketplaces, grading services, or databases. These links are provided for convenience and reference only. We do not endorse, warrant, or take responsibility for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site.
Market data sourced from third-party platforms (such as sold listings) reflects what was publicly available at the time of research. We cannot verify the accuracy of third-party data and it may contain errors, fraudulent listings, or non-arm's-length transactions that distort observed prices.
Linking to a marketplace, grading service, or seller does not constitute an endorsement of that company, its prices, or its services.
08 —Prices and availability change¶
Card markets move quickly — always verify before acting.
The trading card market is dynamic. Prices for individual cards, sets, or grades can shift materially in a short period due to factors including:
- New set releases or product announcements from The Pokémon Company or other publishers.
- Grading population changes (as more copies are submitted and graded).
- Shifts in collector demand, media coverage, or social trends.
- Changes in the availability of sealed product or raw cards on the secondary market.
- Currency fluctuations affecting cross-border prices.
A valuation published on this Site may be materially different from the price a card actually trades at on the day you read it. Always check current sold listings before making any buying or selling decision.
We update valuations when we are able to, but we make no commitment to keep any specific valuation current. The "last updated" date shown in the document header indicates when the overall page or section was last reviewed, not necessarily when each individual valuation within it was checked.
09 —Limitation of liability¶
Our liability for reliance on the Content.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TCG Mart London shall not be liable for any loss, cost, or damage arising from your reliance on any Content on the Site, including but not limited to:
- Financial loss from buying, selling, or holding trading cards based on our valuations or commentary.
- Loss resulting from reliance on condition descriptions or grading commentary.
- Loss arising from the inaccuracy of market data or third-party pricing sources.
- Loss resulting from changes in card value after the date a valuation was published.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
